Apparently, I played the game well enough to earn my bananas. 🙂 I was nervous, but I played the game accordingly and showed them exactly why I was the most qualified. Thank God I have a job for next year! It’s going to be a lot of work, and a bit of a commute, but I feel so relieved to know that my fiance and I can start our married life together with two supportive incomes to back up our dreams and adventures together! I broke the news to my fiance by calling him and telling him, “We can get a puppy!” We celebrated by eating dinner at Cheeseburger in Paradise- mmmm coconut shrimp! Jimmy Buffet flew in and gave a concert on the roof top when the restaurant first opened.
Plans we’ve pondered as of late:
-when/what to replace one of our vehicles (Are the new Malibus nice?)
-when to buy a puppy, what breed, whether to stud them (lab/Swissie?)
-how/what to pack for the honeymoon
-how to go about combining our bank accounts
-what trip we want to go on/save for next
I’m getting married in 18 days. It’s so bizarre to think about how fast everything has happened. Last night, C and I were thinking about all of the memories we had in our apartments (now that we’re in a house) and how fast that time went by. I moved out of my parents house less than a year ago, and in that time I’ve moved into my first apartment, was proposed to, became engaged, planned a wedding, finished my first year of teaching, moved out of my first apartment, and moved into my first rental house. Now, I’m about to get married, go on a two week adventure in Europe, and begin my second year of teaching in a completely different school, for a completely different age level of kids. My friends keep saying it’s so weird that I’m getting married, even if it isn’t a surprise to them that I’d be the first one out of the group. I feel like there’s nothing I want more than to be married to my best friend. I’ve never felt so lucky in my entire life than I do right now. There’s so much to look forward to and so much to fondly look back on. I know it’s going to be a stressful two months, but I’m ready to take on the craziness in exchange for the joy and excitement!
